Who Really Controls The Conservative Record? Is a District 19 Candidate Involved?

The Conservative Record has become an increasingly visible presence in Southwest Florida politics, publishing stories on local races while amplifying its reach through paid Facebook advertising. Yet despite its growing influence in Southwest Florida politics, basic questions remain unanswered: Who is actually behind the publication, who funds its operations, and who sets its editorial direction? When an organization helps shape public opinion and political conversations while its ownership and affiliations remain unclear, transparency becomes a legitimate concern. Should individuals or groups operating outside the public view have significant influence over the political landscape of Southwest Florida without voters knowing who is behind the message?
A search of Florida's Sunbiz corporate records and fictitious name registrations turns up no obvious connection to "The Conservative Record," leaving readers with few clues about who owns, funds, or operates the publication. While there are legitimate reasons a media outlet may not appear in Florida business records, the lack of transparency stands in contrast to its active role in shaping political discourse. For a publication asking the public to trust its reporting, identifying the people or organization responsible seems like a reasonable expectation.

According to The Conservative Record's website, it describes itself as an independent conservative news publication founded in Southwest Florida. However, the site does not clearly identify its ownership, publisher, or corporate entity. Instead, one of the listed contact emails is info@gregp68.sg-host.com, rather than an email address using the publication's own domain.
Meta's Facebook Ad Library also demonstrates that The Conservative Record has made significant use of paid social media advertising (about $10,000) to expand the reach of its content. Public disclosures show that advertisements promoting The Conservative Record have been run on Facebook, with the required "Paid for by Netwide Media LLC" disclaimer appearing on almost all of those ads. The library contains numerous advertisements promoting articles and political commentary, indicating an organized and ongoing digital advertising strategy rather than occasional boosted posts. While the Meta Ad Library identifies the entity paying for the advertisements, it does not disclose the underlying business relationship between Netwide Media LLC and The Conservative Record, nor does it identify who ultimately funds the advertising campaign or directs the publication's editorial decisions. Those disclosures leave important questions about the publication's ownership, financing, and operational structure unanswered.
Public business records provide another piece of the puzzle. Florida corporate records show that Netwide Media LLC registered to do business in Florida in 2003. The filing identifies Greg Parsons as the company's President, Managing Member, and Registered Agent. It also identifies Eva Parsons as a Managing Member. Currently, it is under his trust, "GREGORY E PARSONS TRUST". The company described its business as "Internet consulting and website promotion." Property records further show that Gregory and Eva Parsons own a residence in Fort Myers, Florida.
The unanswered question is why Netwide Media LLC appears to be connected to advertising associated with The Conservative Record.
If Netwide Media is purchasing or managing advertising for The Conservative Record, there are several possible explanations. It could simply be acting as the publication's marketing agency. It could also be providing website management, digital advertising, or social media consulting services. None of those possibilities, standing alone, would necessarily indicate ownership or editorial control.
What is not publicly documented, at least based on the records reviewed so far, is who ultimately owns or controls The Conservative Record, who funds its operations, or whether any political candidates, committees, or outside organizations finance the publication.
Rumors have circulated online suggesting various individuals or political campaigns may be involved. However, no public records reviewed to date establish those claims. Allegations alone are not evidence, and they should not be presented as fact without supporting documentation.
Several questions therefore remain open:
Who owns The Conservative Record?
Why does The Conservative Record not appear on SunBiz?
Why does its website use a contact email associated with "gregp68"?
What role, if any, does Netwide Media LLC play in operating or advertising the publication?
Is Netwide Media merely providing advertising services, or does it have another business relationship with the publication?
If political advertising is being purchased, who is ultimately paying for it?
Some are saying it's a local "Businessman" heavily involved in local media.
A review of The Conservative Record’s Southwest Florida political coverage suggests the publication has a clear ideological perspective and appears to be more favorable toward some conservative candidates and officeholders than others. While the site has promoted certain Republican figures and policies, it has also targeted other Republican candidates with critical reporting and scrutiny. That pattern does not establish a formal endorsement, coordination, or affiliation with any campaign, but it does raise questions about the publication’s editorial priorities and standards for coverage. As the outlet continues to influence local political conversations, transparency about its ownership, funding, and editorial leadership remains an important issue for readers.
How come they seem to be bashing every candidate but never seem to mention anything negative about Jim Schwartzel? They criticize candidates for missing debates, yet Jim Schwartzel misses up to 5 debates; they never bring that up. They scrutinize everyone else's voting record, but they never mention that Jim Schwartzel didn't vote for President Trump in 2024. Why the double standard? Why is everyone else fair game while Schwartzel gets a pass? Some people are asking whether it's because Schwartzel and Terry Miller are behind the Conservative Record. If that's true, it would explain the selective coverage. If not, they should address the obvious inconsistency and apply the same standards to every candidate.
Another question worth asking is whether The Conservative Record's editorial coverage and advertising strategy are intended to influence the race for Florida's 19th Congressional District. Media outlets routinely endorse candidates or emphasize particular issues, but transparency about who owns, funds, and operates a publication helps readers evaluate potential biases. Without clear public disclosure of the publication's ownership or financial backing, readers are left to draw their own conclusions about whether its reporting reflects independent journalism or the interests of those supporting it.
These are legitimate questions that can be answered through records rather than speculation. Campaign finance reports, Meta Ad Library disclosures, business contracts, or corporate records could help provide those answers. Until that evidence is available, the documented facts are limited: Netwide Media LLC exists, Greg and Eva Parsons have been publicly associated with the company, and Netwide Media appears to have a role in advertising connected with The Conservative Record.
The remaining question, "why" has yet to be answered by public records.
